A bit about me

I'm an award-winning picture book author and my stories are often inspired by real-world events or experiences.

I've always loved languages and literature and studied French, German and linguistics at Cambridge University. After reading hundreds of picture books to my children (and some of those hundreds of times...), I started writing my own stories.

I'm an advisor to the Young Readers Festival, which  brings authors and illustrators into schools across Hong Kong. The programme celebrates storytelling and fosters a love of reading for pleasure for students of all ages.

I was born in the UK and have lived in France, Belgium and Hong Kong. I speak French, German and just enough Cantonese that I won’t get lost or go hungry...

I've spent the last 20 years in Hong Kong, where I live with my family.
